John Hughes has passed away

Like many people my age (which shall remain a mystery for now), I grew up with John Hughes' movies. He hit the right age demographic at the right time with the right films to really impact our culture. And, if you've never laughed over one of his movies, what are you waiting for?

My favorite John Hughes movie is the first one I ever saw, Sixteen Candles. I leave you with quotes.

"Relax, would you? We have seventy dollars and a pair of girls underpants. We're safe as kittens."

"Donger's here for five hours, and he's got somebody. I live here my whole life, and I'm like a disease."

"I really love Rudy. He is totally enamored of me. I mean, I've had other men love me before, but not for six months in a row."

"I can't believe my grandmother actually felt me up."

"That's why they call them crushes. If they were easy, they'd call them something else."

"God, I hope whoever got that note doesn't know it was me who wrote it. I'd shit twice and die."

"Ooh. Sexy Girlfriend."

Time to watch the movie now. Thanks, John Hughes. You gave us a lot of joy.
