Project Runway! The gay divorcees

Sorry, I'm a bit late with this. Last week's Project Runway challenge was to take a divorced woman's wedding gown and redesign it into something fresh and fashion forward for their new free fresh lives. Tim Gunn uttered the word, "divorcee," at least seventy-three times in this episode. Every time he used this archaic and fab word, I loved his a little bit more.
This is the winning dress, from Gordanna, and it was high time for her to win. If you consider that she dyed the dress, cut it into strips, and made this wonderful little garment all in a day, it's pretty amazing. Not so crazy about the boots, but the dress is fantastic. And Gordanna never flipped out about the situation, unlike some of the other designers. One in particular, whose voice is like acrylic nails on a chalkboard, whined the entire time.

Unfortunately, Epperson was sent to clean up his work space and go home. Heidi said that this dress looked like Oktoberfest wear. It kind of does, but I think the main problem here is that the redesigned dress looks so much like the original wedding dress, shortened a little, with bits of electrical tape stuck to it for a St. Pauli girl effect. So, goodbye, Epperson. You added some much needed all-pervasive cool to this season, where the men have dropped like flies from the first episode.

  1. Like you, I loved Gordanna's dress and was glad to see her win. The dress was hot and amazingly made so quickly. The color of the dress is wonderful!

  3. ok, i'm just gonna say it: I kinda liked the 1970s Gunne Sax-style peplum dress that Gordanna had to transform. I'd chop it just above the knee and pair it with these:

  4. Eperson's dress was rather lame, but I am very sad to see him go. I love his designs and was rooting for him to win. :( Now I need a new favourite.
