Here is something a little more useful than the closed threads blog. It's the etsy garden site. Right now, etsy is mysteriously "down for maintenance." Everyone gets scared and panics. Plus, you can't read any closed threads! Major bummer! But, if you go to the etsy garden site, very often it will update you on what's going on and when it will be fixed. Not much info right now. . .
