High school movies! Heathers

Yeah, I know, it seems like I only like dark dramas or horror movies. However, I do have a soft spot in my heart for about a dozen movies that take place in high school. I can't help it. One of my favorites is Heathers, from 1988. Now, not to date myself, but I saw this movie when it was in the theaters, and thought it was the coolest movie ever.
Here's your plot summary: Veronica (Winona Ryder) is part of the upper social echelon of Westerberg High in Ohio. This group consists mainly of three girls named Heather. The Heathers run the school with an iron fist of bitchery, practical jokes and downright evil. A Jack Nicholson sounding, loner of a new student, J.D. (Christian Slater), adds a certain rebellious spark to Veronica's life, and that spark leads to a string of murders disguised as suicides.
This is a fairly black comedy, examining the social constructs of high school, the effects of parents and teachers on students, and the myth of teen suicide. On top of all of that, it is extremely funny, in a dark and mean-spirited way. I still quote this movie regularly to this day. This is the shadow side of The Breakfast Club and John Hughes. Way worth a watch.
"Betty Finn was a true friend, and I sold her out for a bunch of Swatch dogs and Diet Coke heads. Killing Heather would be like offing the Wicked Witch of the West."
"God, Veronica, my afterlife is so boring. If I have to sing Kumbaya one more time. . ."
"The extreme always seems to make an impression."
"Our love is God. Let's go get a Slushie."
"Dear Diary: My teenaged angst bullshit now has a body count."
"Es-ki-mooooo. . ."
Okay, I'll stop now. Well, I'll continue silently in my head, but I'll spare you all. See the movie. It will make you laugh.
