Tin foil hat challenge

So, the fab and fine folks of the Etsy Etc. forums put forth a challenge a couple of weeks ago:
Make a tin foil hat.

If you're not familiar with the concept of the tin foil hat, let me break it down for you.
A tin foil hat provides a metallic barrier between your brain and all of those nefarious forces out there in the world that might be trying to read your thoughts or alter your brain waves. Or something.

It's kind of like a thought condom for your mind, yes?

So, I immediately thought, Gus needs a tin foil hat! We must protect his brain and thoughts from those that would attempt to use his brilliance for evil purposes or bad bad world domination. We can't let the cabals or aliens have access to Gus. It would mean ruin for us all.

This jaunty but utilitarian chapeau is made from cardboard from a used US flat rate postage box, a hank of foil, a cut up Valentine, and a mourning dove feather I found in the yard. It's repurposed, upcycled and fashion forward.
And he wears it well. So well.
I tried to put the hat on Franklin. Um, no.
Let the foil parade begin!

  2. So the foil keeps the brain sucking monsters at bay and that feather serves as a warning to the local birdies?
Fashion forward and multi-functional. I would expect nothing less from our Gussy.
    Franklin is in trouble.

  6. Gus looks highly affronted by this indignity, or like he WOULD look highly affronted if he allowed himself to care.

Yay for pet humiliation! Makes me miss having a cat.
