My newest Etsy obsession

I can be a bit obsessive from time to time. Not so you would notice. Recently, Etsy unveiled its newest treasury gallery, Treasury East, and it's a billion variations of cool. Before there were two treasury galleries, the Main Treasury and Treasury West. The trick to those two was this: You had to wait for the treasury to drop below the minimum number, and then snag one at exactly the right minute. While that appealed to my cat-like love of pouncing, it could also be a major pain in the behind. You had to sit and wait for the treasury to open, and it often wasn't very democratic. Many, many people were frustrated by how it worked.

Now, with Treasury East, you can create a treasury any time. I've probably made three dozen since Treasury East began, with topics from Bigfoot to Rainy Sunday Mornings, from Reservoir Dogs to Zombie Attacks, from Cameos to the lovely members of Team Bacon. It's a fantastic way to highlight Etsy treasures that you've discovered, and I've found a lot of new favorites in the process. Also, all sixteen of the listings that you choose are visible to viewers, instead of the traditional twelve listings, with your extra four alternates being all invisible. More room, more exposure, open all day and night.

The only downside that I can see is that the treasuries never expire. There are currently 799 pages of treasuries on Treasury East, each page with twenty treasuries. That equals. . . a ridiculous quantity. It's probably a good idea to delete your beautiful collections after several weeks, or we may have so many treasuries that we blow up Etsy.

Yay, I snagged another Treasury today. Must have been feeling romantic, because my theme was Heart and Soul. Take a look, and spread some love.

Pounce! Treasury

I was trying to help my friend, HappyKATT, snag a treasury tonight. (By the way, check out her etsy shop. She is an amazing knitter, and makes the most beautiful, unusual things.) So, I sent her a note letting her know that the countdown had begun. Short story long, I got a treasury, and she did not. Feh.

I went to the Pounce feature on etsy, and pulled listings from shops that had just sold something. I ended up with a fab collection of black and white items, including these gorgeous Ghost Doe blank cards from bluedogrose. Check out Might as well Pounce! Yep, I am officially a Treasury addict! My theme for this one was the line from Bob Dylan's song, "Shelter from the Storm": "Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm." You get cookies, beautiful mugs for coffee, and a cat. What more do you really need?

Wow, I snagged another treasury! Here, I've been trying for months, and I always seem to miss them. Now, I have a Main Treasury and a Treasury West simultaneously. Kismet?
